Introduction: JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSSAHER) has a long-standing tradition of promoting interdisciplinary research and fostering global collaborations. The institution has made significant strides in health sciences, particularly in areas such as pharmacology, public health and clinical medicine. JSSAHER, a health sciences-oriented institution in India, has consistently emphasised research and global collaboration. This study evaluates its contribution to global research.
Aim: This study used the Web of Science database to analyse the research output, growth and international collaboration of JSSAHER from 1996 to 2023 through scientometric analysis.
Materials and Methods: This bibliometric study was conducted at JSSAHER, Mysuru, India, between January and June 2024, using data from the Web of Science database. A total of 4,680 publications were analysed based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Parameters such as publication trends, citation metrics, international collaborations and keyword analysis were assessed using tools like Biblioshiny, VOSviewer, CiteSpace and MS Excel. Ethical clearance was not applicable, as this study involved secondary data analysis.
Results: JSSAHER’s research output demonstrated an annual growth rate of 13.87%. In 2023, 649 papers were published, and 5,665 citations were recorded in 2022. Prominent keywords included “in-vitro,” “prevalence” and “oxidative stress.” Collaboration networks revealed partnerships with various countries.
Conclusion: The analysis highlights JSSAHER’s growing influence in scientific research, marked by sustained publication output, impactful collaborations and diverse research themes. These insights guide the institution’s future research endeavours.
